Wrap-Around Care
At The Ryde we understand that parents lead busy lives, so we provide a range of services to make life easier for busy families. We can now offer wrap-around care from 7.45am – 6.00pm for all of our pupils. This includes: Breakfast Club, Nursery Care and After School Club.
Breakfast Club
We run a breakfast club every morning between 7.45am and 8.40am. Payment is as follows: 7.45am drop off is £4.80 and 7.55am drop off is £3.80. The children are offered a healthy range of food and drink: cereal, yoghurt, fruit, milk, juice and toast with a choice of toppings, served until 8.20am. Afterwards they can join in with various activities: games, drawing, colouring, jigsaws, building with Lego, or reading.
Nursery Care
Our nursery staff offer child care from 11:45am, when our Nursery finishes, until 3:00pm. The children will be asked to bring a packed lunch. A range of activities and experiences will be planned to support each child’s development during this time. There will be an option to continue care in our After School Club.
After School Club
The Ryde After School Club operates from 3-6pm, Monday – Friday. Payment is by the hour: 3-4pm £5.75, 4-5pm £4.70, 5-6pm £4.70. The pricing structure reflects the higher staffing costs for the first hour and the food costs for the snack and tea. The session starts with a small snack (choice of fruit and vegetables) and a drink of squash or water, followed by an adult led activity or a choice of child initiated activities. A child could be at this session whilst their sibling is at an after school activity. Parents can then pick up all of their children at the same time. In the second session, the children are encouraged to help the adults prepare for Teatime (again, a choice of fruit and vegetables plus a healthy snack) and then clear away and wash up. A child attending an after school activity could join this session. There is another adult led activity in the final hour. Children can continue an unfinished activity or choose a new one. Each child has a folder in which they can put projects they want to continue with.
